WRITING & POLICY · 05

Bringing measurement, fieldwork, and public choices into the same argument.

Writing helps me connect experimental data, field observations, and public decisions. I focus on environmental chemistry, agricultural practice, energy transitions, and how we value long-term environmental change.

Zinc and Cadmium in Soil

Comparing how four zinc treatments affect wheat survival, metal availability, uptake, and root-to-shoot transport in contaminated soil.

My role: Experimental design, measurements, analysis, and paper writing

Rethinking the Discount Rate as Natural Capital Declines

I challenge GDP growth as a sufficient proxy for future welfare. Drawing on natural capital, ecological thresholds, and uncertainty, I argue that long-term environmental policy should begin with a positive discount rate and gradually move below zero as irreversible ecological loss constrains future welfare.

My role: Daniel Sun · Independent argument, economic analysis, and writing

ENERGY EQUITY · POLICY BRIEF

Rural Heating & Energy Equity

Using village interviews to study subsidy and maintenance burdens in the clean-heating transition, then proposing differentiated support.

My role: Interviews, three case studies, and policy recommendations

Pesticide and Fertilizer Use in Lanling County

Using interviews with five pesticide retailers and one major fertilizer retailer, I estimated application patterns across grain crops and greenhouse vegetables. The survey identified substantial pesticide-reduction potential, especially in greenhouse production, and recommended clearer dosage education, tighter sales oversight, and the phaseout of obsolete chemicals.

WRITING PRINCIPLE

Every conclusion returns to the evidence.

Unpublished work is never labeled “published.” Download buttons appear only when original files are available. Project nicknames help readers navigate, while papers retain their real titles. Proposal outcomes are described as “submitted,” “discussed,” or “adopted” only when supporting records confirm them.

Zn-MOF Structure & Separation

A 20-page paper; test conditions and the original file have not yet been provided.

Emerging Contaminants & Battery Recycling

Two proposal themes are complete; records are still needed to confirm whether each was submitted, discussed, or adopted.

Xuesen Plan Energy Study

The report link will be added when the original file and date are confirmed.
